Helping to support the voice of the customer

One of the larger digital projects we completed during the summer was a new corporate website for global customer champion Consumers International.

Consumers International brings together more than 200 member organisations in over 100 countries to 'empower and champion the rights of consumers everywhere.'

Formerly known as the International Organisation of Consumers Unions (IOCU), Consumers International was started in 1960 by a group of five consumer organisations from the US, Western Europe and Australia.

It has grown to become a powerful voice in international policy-making forums and the global marketplace to ensure consumers are treated safely, fairly and honestly. It has led successful campaigns against antibiotics in food, unsafe cars and building a digital world consumers can trust.

Chris Donaldson, Brandex Creative and Digital Director, said: “CI was keen to upgrade its existing website to be able to communicate effectively to consumers, members and policymakers around the world. We helped CI reorganise their content and developed a clear, easy to use and accessible website with a large array of publishing tools at their fingertips.

Key to the site structure were the campaign sections showcasing CI's campaign activity worldwide and a directory of members. We also introduced a translation facility which enables the site to be read in more than 110 languages.
