There are many telephone networks in the UK, not just BT. Companies such as Cable and Wireless, Thus Telecom, and Opal Telecom have invested millions of pounds in creating high performance Networks, not only in the UK but around the world. By routing calls across an alternative network to BT we can pass on large cost savings, as we are charged less, whilst ensuring the quality customers have come to expect.
How does it work?
Each carrier network has it's own 4 digit access code and this number is inserted in your phone system or at your local exchange. Your call is then routed over the chosen carrier and then handed back to the BT network for delivery to the receiving number. The routing is seemless and because Swains Plc only work with Tier 1 carriers (BT is a Tier 1 carrier also) you will not notice any changes to quality, connection levels etc.
What happens when I sign up?
Contact your local reseller who will assess your current telecom spends and provide you with a proposal, which will indicate how much you can save.
Swains Plc and your local reseller will organise the routing. If you have a PBX (phone system) it may require re-programming and your local reseller will organise this. Alternatively CPS (Carrier Pre-Selection) will be applied at your local BT Exchange.
During this process you will receive no loss of service, no change to numbers etc.
